〜し〜し

Lists two or more reasons or qualities, implying 'and there are others besides'. It is very common in conversation, often with the conclusion left out (今日は寒いし、雨も降っているし…). Unlike から, which gives one clear reason, し piles up several supporting reasons and sounds softer and more casual.

• この店は安いし、おいしいです。

  このみせはやすいし、おいしいです。

  This restaurant is cheap and the food is good.

• 今日は熱もあるし、頭も痛いし、会社を休みます。

  きょうはねつもあるし、あたまもいたいし、かいしゃをやすみます。

  I have a fever and a headache, so I'm taking the day off work.

• 彼は親切だし、まじめだし、みんなに好かれている。

  かれはしんせつだし、まじめだし、みんなにすかれている。

  He's kind and hard-working, so everyone likes him.
