〜とあれば

Sets up a special condition that justifies an unusual degree of effort or sacrifice; the second clause typically shows the speaker's strong resolve ('I'd do anything', 'I can't refuse'). It is formal and somewhat literary, common with 〜のため, 命令, 必要, お客様 and similar nouns. Unlike neutral 〜なら, it implies 'if that's really the situation, then of course...'.

• 子供のためとあれば、どんな苦労もいとわない。

  こどものためとあれば、どんなくろうもいとわない。

  If it's for my child, I don't mind any hardship.

• 社長の命令とあれば、断るわけにはいかない。

  しゃちょうのめいれいとあれば、ことわるわけにはいかない。

  If it's the president's order, I can hardly refuse.

• 必要とあれば、すぐに現地へ飛びます。

  ひつようとあれば、すぐにげんちへとびます。

  If it proves necessary, I'll fly to the site right away.
