〜というところだ

Used to give an approximate figure or to sum up a situation, usually with the nuance that the amount is small or the situation is nothing more than that. Often preceded by せいぜい or まあ. 〜といったところだ is slightly softer and more common in writing; both are used when reporting or evaluating, not when talking about one's own plans.

• 忙しくても、休みは月に一日といったところだ。

  いそがしくても、やすみはつきにいちにちといったところだ。

  Busy as I am, I get about one day off a month at most.

• 駅までは歩いて十分というところです。

  えきまではあるいてじゅっぷんというところです。

  It's about ten minutes on foot to the station.

• 売り上げは伸びたが、まだまだ現状維持といったところだ。

  うりあげはのびたが、まだまだげんじょういじといったところだ。

  Sales rose, but really we're just holding steady, that's all.
