〜ようでは

Presents an undesirable state or behaviour as a condition and concludes that a bad result is unavoidable. The second clause is almost always negative: 〜ない, だめだ, 無理だ, 先が思いやられる. Used for criticism, warning or self-reproach, so avoid it with neutral or positive conditions; the colloquial contraction is 〜ようじゃ.

• こんな簡単な問題も解けないようでは、合格は難しい。

  こんなかんたんなもんだいもとけないようでは、ごうかくはむずかしい。

  If you can't even solve such an easy problem, passing will be tough.

• 毎日遅刻するようでは、信用を失うよ。

  まいにちちこくするようでは、しんようをうしなうよ。

  If you keep coming late every day, you'll lose people's trust.

• 新人にこんなミスを指摘されるようじゃ、先輩として情けない。

  しんじんにこんなミスをしてきされるようじゃ、せんぱいとしてなさけない。
