〜と〜とどちら

This is the standard way to compare exactly two items. The answer usually comes back as 「N のほうが〜です」. Even when comparing places or people, どちら (casual: どっち) is used rather than どこ or 誰, and どれ is reserved for three or more choices.

• コーヒーと紅茶とどちらが好きですか。

  コーヒーとこうちゃとどちらがすきですか。

  Which do you like better, coffee or tea?

• 電車とバスとどちらが速いですか。

  でんしゃとバスとどちらがはやいですか。

  Which is faster, the train or the bus?

• 日本とベトナムとどちらのほうが暑いですか。

  にほんとベトナムとどちらのほうがあついですか。

  Which is hotter, Japan or Vietnam?
