〜やすい

Attached to the ます-stem, it says an action is easy to perform or that something easily happens. The result behaves like an い-adjective (やすかった, やすくない, やすくて). With transitive verbs it usually means 'easy for the user' (使いやすい), while with change verbs it means 'apt to' (壊れやすい, 風邪をひきやすい).

  This pen is easy to write with.

• 先生の説明は分かりやすかったです。

  せんせいのせつめいはわかりやすかったです。

  The teacher's explanation was easy to understand.

• この季節は風邪をひきやすいですから、気をつけてください。

  このきせつはかぜをひきやすいですから、きをつけてください。

  People catch colds easily in this season, so please take care.
