〜たばかり

Expresses that an action finished only a short time ago, from the speaker's subjective feeling. Unlike 〜たところだ, which refers to an objectively just-completed moment, 〜たばかり can be used even months later if the speaker feels it is recent (日本に来たばかりです). It can modify a noun as 〜たばかりの N.

• 今、起きたばかりです。

  いま、おきたばかりです。

  I just woke up.

• このパソコンは先月買ったばかりなのに、もう壊れた。

  このぱそこんはせんげつかったばかりなのに、もうこわれた。

  I only bought this computer last month, and it's already broken.

• 彼女は大学を卒業したばかりで、まだ仕事に慣れていない。

  かのじょはだいがくをそつぎょうしたばかりで、まだしごとになれていない。

  She has just graduated from university and isn't used to the job yet.
