〜に関して

に関して has the same basic function as について but belongs to formal written and spoken Japanese: reports, announcements, news and business settings. Before a noun the usual form is に関する (安全に関する規則); に関しての is also possible but less common. It tends to cover a whole area or field connected with the topic, so it sounds too heavy for casual chat about small matters.

• この件に関して、ご意見をお聞かせください。

  このけんにかんして、ごいけんをおきかせください。

  Please let us hear your opinion regarding this matter.

• 安全に関する規則は必ず守ってください。

  あんぜんにかんするきそくはかならずまもってください。

  Please be sure to follow the rules concerning safety.

• 新製品の価格に関しては、来週発表する予定です。

  しんせいひんのかかくにかんしては、らいしゅうはっぴょうするよていです。

  As for the price of the new product, we plan to announce it next week.
