〜たびに

States that whenever one event occurs, another regularly follows. It is slightly more formal than 〜といつも and is common with repeated occasions such as 会う, 帰る, 旅行, 試験. The second clause usually describes a habitual result or feeling, not a one-time fact, and it is not used for conditions that have not happened yet.

• 彼は会うたびに背が高くなっている。

  かれはあうたびにせがたかくなっている。

  He's taller every time I see him.

• 旅行のたびに、その土地のお菓子を買います。

  りょこうのたびに、そのとちのおかしをかいます。

  Every time I travel, I buy local sweets.

• この歌を聞くたびに、高校時代を思い出します。

  このうたをきくたびに、こうこうじだいをおもいだします。

  Whenever I hear this song, I remember my high school days.
