〜てばかりいる／〜ばかり

〜てばかりいる says someone does only one thing over and over, usually with criticism or complaint from the speaker. N＋ばかり limits the noun: 'nothing but ~'. Note the difference from 〜たばかり (just did something a moment ago), which is unrelated in meaning. Common in everyday conversation.

• 弟はゲームをしてばかりいる。

  おとうとはゲームをしてばかりいる。

  My little brother does nothing but play video games.

• 肉ばかり食べないで、野菜も食べなさい。

  にくばかりたべないで、やさいもたべなさい。

  Don't just eat meat — eat vegetables too.

• 彼女は最近、泣いてばかりいて、心配です。

  かのじょはさいきん、ないてばかりいて、しんぱいです。

  She does nothing but cry lately, and I'm worried.
