〜だって（強調）

A casual spoken equivalent of も or でも used to emphasise: 'even X (is no exception)'. With question words it gives the meaning 'any-' (誰だって, どこだって, いつだって). It is quite colloquial, so in polite or written Japanese use でも／も instead. Note that だって at the start of a sentence means 'but/because', a different usage.

• 子どもだって、そのぐらい分かるよ。

  こどもだって、そのぐらい わかるよ。

  Even a child understands that much.

• 忙しいのは私だって同じだ。

  いそがしいのは わたしだって おなじだ。

  I'm just as busy as you are.

• やる気があれば、誰だって上手になれる。

  やるきが あれば、だれだって じょうずに なれる。

  If you have the motivation, anyone can get good at it.
