〜にともなって

States that when A occurs or changes, B occurs or changes with it. It covers both gradual change (like 〜につれて) and one-time events or decisions, which 〜につれて cannot do: 引っ越しに伴い住所が変わる. 〜に伴い is the written/announcement form, 〜に伴う modifies a noun; the register is formal, typical of notices and news.

• 人口の増加に伴って、ごみの量も増えた。

  じんこうのぞうかにともなって、ごみのりょうもふえた。

  Along with the increase in population, the amount of garbage has increased too.

• 台風の接近に伴い、明日の試合は中止となりました。

  たいふうのせっきんにともない、あしたのしあいはちゅうしとなりました。

  Due to the approaching typhoon, tomorrow's match has been cancelled.

• 新工場の建設に伴う問題について話し合った。

  しんこうじょうのけんせつにともなうもんだいについてはなしあった。

  We discussed the problems accompanying the construction of the new factory.
