〜に至るまで

Marks the far end of a range and emphasizes that even that extreme point is included, usually after listing something ordinary first (大きな物から小さな物に至るまで). The range can be of things, people, places or time. It is a formal, written expression; when it refers to time, 〜に至るまで stresses a long continuous stretch, unlike the neutral 〜まで.

• この店では文房具からかばんに至るまで何でも売っている。

  このみせでは ぶんぼうぐから かばんに いたるまで なんでも うって いる。

  This shop sells everything from stationery all the way to bags.

• 彼女は服装から言葉づかいに至るまで気を配っている。

  かのじょは ふくそうから ことばづかいに いたるまで きを くばって いる。

  She pays attention to everything, from her clothes to her choice of words.

• この寺は建てられてから今日に至るまで、地域の人々に守られてきた。

  このてらは たてられてから こんにちに いたるまで、ちいきの ひとびとに まもられて きた。

  From the time it was built right up to the present day, this temple has been protected by the local people.
