〜ようもない

States that no method or means exists to do something, so the action is impossible however much one wants to. It is stronger and more resigned than 〜ことができない, which simply says one cannot. Common set phrases are 連絡しようがない, 直しようがない, 言いようがない; 〜ようもない is the slightly more emphatic variant with も.

• 住所も電話番号も知らないので、連絡しようがない。

  じゅうしょもでんわばんごうもしらないので、れんらくしようがない。

  I don't know his address or phone number, so there's no way to contact him.

• これだけ壊れていては、もう直しようもない。

  これだけこわれていては、もうなおしようもない。

  Broken this badly, it simply can't be repaired.

• 彼の親切には、感謝の言葉も言いようがありません。

  かれのしんせつには、かんしゃのことばもいいようがありません。

  I can't find words to thank him for his kindness.
