〜といったらありゃしない

An emphatic exclamation meaning the degree is so extreme that words fail. ありゃしない is the colloquial contraction of ありはしない, so this form belongs to casual spoken Japanese; the neutral written forms are 〜といったらない and the stiffer 〜といったらありはしない. It is used almost exclusively for negative feelings—irritation, exhaustion, embarrassment, awfulness—unlike 〜といったらない, which can occasionally be positive.
