〜予定だ

Used for plans that are already fixed on a schedule, often decided in advance or by an organization, not a sudden personal whim. It sounds more objective and settled than 〜つもりだ, which expresses the speaker's own intention. Common in announcements, work contexts and travel talk; the polite form is 〜予定です.

• 来月、京都へ行く予定です。

  らいげつ、きょうとへいくよていです。

  I'm planning to go to Kyoto next month.

• 会議は三時からの予定です。

  かいぎはさんじからのよていです。

  The meeting is scheduled to start at three.

• 社長は来週アメリカへ出張する予定だそうだ。

  しゃちょうはらいしゅうアメリカへしゅっちょうするよていだそうだ。

  I hear the president is scheduled to go on a business trip to the US next week.
